Scientist-Practitioner

Training in neurocognitive sciences, psychology, and clinical social work shapes how I understand what you bring into the room. Rather than reducing an experience to a diagnosis or a single explanation, I consider how the brain and nervous system, patterns of thought and behavior, relationships, lived experience, and social conditions may be working together.

Neurocognitive science helps me understand how stress, trauma, learning, attention, and emotion affect how you process and respond to experiences. Psychology offers ways to understand behavioral, emotional, and relational patterns. Clinical social work keeps that understanding grounded in the realities of your relationships, communities, culture, resources, and environment. I bring these perspectives together with research and evidence-informed practice to help you understand not only what is happening but also why it may be happening and what you can do with that understanding.
